The Homeless & LBAM Spraying: Accounts from the Community on Free Radio Thursday 6-8 PM
by Robert Norse
Tuesday Nov 13th, 2007 4:15 AM
Interviews with plaintiffs and victims of the Light Brown Apple Moth "Checkmate" pesticide spraying will be aired Thursday 11-15 at various points between 6 and 8 PM. Call-in at 427-3772 to comment or add your experience.
Particular focus: the City's failure to provide for emergency shelter for the most vulnerable population: homeless people.
I taped a number of impromptu interviews with those who gathered at City Hall on Veteran's Day to put together afidavits and add plantiffs to the Edna Williams lawsuit coming up in Federal Court on November 20th.

My show focuses mainly on issues of the denial of civil rights to homeless people---vividly illustrated by City Council's refusal to mention, much less take action, to open up emergency shelter during the LBAM checkmate spraying last week for the city's 1500-2000 homeless.

The show will stream at http://www.freakradio.org and archive at http://www.huffsantacruz.org .
